Zoomagination and their animal ambassadors recently put on a show fat the library that included snakes and a plethora of creatures. The San Marcos Public Library will next host the Austin Reptile Show on Thursday, at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 1p.m. Those wishing to attend may pick up free tickets at the library.

Gary Jobs Corps cadets tour new facility

Local residents along with many members of law enforcement from surroundings cities celebrated with the city of Kyle at the ribbon cutting and opening of the new Public Safety Building. The Public Safety Building will house the Kyle Police along with some city offices. Kyle Chief of Police Jeff Barnett thanked the audience for their attendance and offered tours of the complex. The city of San Marcos is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of Taxiway Charlie’s reconstruction. The event will take place at the San Marcos Regional Airport on Friday at 9 a.m. San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson will deliver remarks and attendees will get to experience the first reconstruction this historic taxiway has undergone since its installation during WWII. Edwards Aquifer Authority declares Stage 4 Critical Period

Management permit reductions for counties under the purview of the Edwards Aquifer Authority- including Atascosa, Bexar, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, and Medina counties within the San Antonio Pool became retroactively enforce on Friday, July 21.

New police building is dedicated

The saying goes everything is bigger in Texas and the city of Kyle proved it with the opening of its new, 64,000 square foot Public Safety Center located at Kohlers Crossing.
