A strong morning sun cast appropriately long shadows on the road Saturday as if to herald the advance, one by one, of student cadets and veterans on a commemorative march to honor a brave group of World War II prisoners of war.
Central Texas is an area known for its unique climate and varied weather patterns. In the spring, the region experiences a shift in temperature and rainfall that can dramatically impact the environment and those who reside here. The Central Texas spring of 2022 was a time of mild temperatures and average rainfall, while the Central Texas spring of 2023 promises to be a stark contrast with high levels of precipitation and potentially severe weather events.
DEAR ABBY: I’ve been married for more than 30 years. My husband and I split all bills and everything else. This has worked because, in life, I have always taken care of myself. Leadership class of 2023 starts fundraising for its community project
The Crestwood Center and the separate business adjacent to it, Ranch Road 12 Self Storage, have a tentative green light to stay in operation following mediated negotiations with the city of San Marcos’ Neighborhood Enhancement, which produced a working agreement on the construction of wastewater and sewer repairs.

For five decades, a local sports organization has promoted the joy of playing golf with the dual purpose of contributing to the community by way of that passion.
The Texas Department of Transportation and officials from Hays County came together Thursday to cut the ribbon on the FM 2001 West Realignment project. This is the first of three projects to improve FM 2001 between I-35 and SH 21. The west project realigned FM 2001 along White Wing Trail from I-35 to just east of CR 118.“Prior to this project, FM 2001 was full of sharp turns.
The San Marcos Rotary Club is set to meet at noon, March 29.
