Jackson says goodbye to Daily Record

Farewell Column
Sunday, July 29, 2018

Editor's Note: A Farewell Column gives a staff member an opportunity to say goodbye and reflect on their time spent at the Daily Record.

I’ve been with the San Marcos Daily Record close to a year now and have gained so much experience in my role as the Sports Beat Writer covering San Marcos High School and Texas State.

But an opportunity has presented itself that I have decided to take that will bring my job here at the Daily Record to a close. I’d like to thank Don Moore and Anita Miller for initially bringing me on as an intern during my last semester as a Bobcat. Thank you to Nick Castillo for pushing me to never settle as a writer/reporter and to the staff for all the ridiculous laughs.

I can’t say enough about Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Mark Soto, all of San Marcos’ coaching staff and the community for allowing me to be a part of the journey this past year. I’m looking forward to following Rattler Nation as it continues its growth as a program.

Friday was my last day at the Daily Record but San Marcos will always be a place I call home.
