Opening up the 2024 baseball season in San Antonio at the Northeast ISD Tournament, the San Marcos Rattlers pulled off the clean sweep beating San Antonio Southwest Legacy, Bastrop, San Antonio Warren, Sharyland Pioneer and San Antonio Sotomayor.

The Rattlers improved their overall record to 5-0.

San Marcos started the tournament in a showdown with the San Antonio Southwest Legacy Titans.

The Rattlers got their first run of the season with runners on corners as Elijah Ramirez stole home and outfielder Tony Diaz moved to third base as San Marcos took the lead at 1-0.

Once again with runners on the corners, Colson Geesee hit an RBI single into left field to score Diaz as the Rattlers went up 2-0.

Dylan Nunez stole home for the Rattlers to score another run before a bases-loaded hit by pitch on Charlie Helgeson put San Marcos up 4-0.

A two-run RBI single by Ramirez followed up by Helgeson stealing home added two more runs for San Marcos as the Rattlers took a commanding 7-0 lead in the first inning.

San Marcos added three more runs to their count as the Rattler pitching staff of Caleb Gomez, Cole Wiatrek, Zehavi Hernandez and Miller Kenworthy threw a combined no-hitter as the Rattlers won 10-0 over Legacy.

The Rattlers followed up their dominating performance of Southwest Legacy with another one as San Marcos defeated Bastrop 10-1.

Vlario Prado and Nunez led the pitching rotation for the Rattlers, throwing a combined five innings allowing just four hits, one earned run, five walks and striking out eight batters.

The combination of San Marcos’ offensive prowess and tough pitching rotation continued on day two of the tournament as the Rattlers once again dominated in a 9-1 win over the San Antonio Warren Warriors.

Webb again led the Rattler offense going 2-3 from the plate with two hits and two RBIs. Landon Munoz also led the charge for the offense going 2-3 from the plate with one RBI.
