The Center for Professional Sales in McCoy College hosted its semi-annual advisory board meeting and luncheon Thursday, Oct. 22 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Marcos. Ten of the 21 partnering companies attended the all-day event, Interview Express, in person, and the other eleven companies attended virtually through our new virtual platform company, Brazen. Students from all the sales concentration classes attended the event and interviewed with the corporate partners about professional selling internships and full-time positions. The students also learned how to interact with new technology familiar to our Fortune 500 partnering companies, three of whom are also Dow components. Two hundred 25 virtual interviews were completed with the partners who attended only virtually.
Comments from both students and corporate partners focused on how innovative technology will continue to drive changes in both the workplace and in the university environment.
As a complement to the event, the center usually hosts an Executive Roundtable with senior executives, with our Advisory Board chairperson, Elizabeth Terrell, Vice President of the Americas for UPS, presiding. However, due to the restrictions on executive travel imposed by the COVID pandemic, this portion of the Interview Express event was postponed indefinitely.
