The Mathworks program at Texas State University is accepting applications for its half-day Junior Summer Math Camp (JSMC).
The half-day program is a multi-level two-week camp that encourages students of all mathematical abilities to experience fun and engaging math activities. At the half-day camp, students explore math problems together and share in mathematical exploration and discovery. Students in younger grade levels are introduced to algebra concepts through play-acting and the more advanced grades engage in problem-solving and discrete math. They work both individually and in groups and learn not only how to solve a problem, but also why things work.
The half-day camp runs 8 a.m. to noon June 10-21 at San Marcos High School. The camp is open to students in grades 3-8. The non-residential day camp offers breakfast, lunch and a snack. Bus service is available for San Marcos CISD students.
