Ray’s of Hope, a local organization that aims to serve those in need, provided supplies following last week’s winter storm.
Berina “Nina” Garcia, a volunteer with Ray's of Hope who was on vacation in Miami, returned to the San Marcos area after hearing about the winter weather’s devastating impact. In the process, Garcia rented a U-haul and filled it with supplies. Ray’s of Hope donated 130 gallons of milk; over 125 dozen eggs; at least 100 loaves of bread; chips, and snacks; baby food and formula; and over 50 cases of water to those in need.

Following its donation, Ray’s of Hope thanked the United Fellowship of San Marcos, those who donated gas money for Garcia’s return trip, those who donated supplies and K&S Towing, which helped Garcia when her U-haul was stuck in the mud.
According to Ray’s of Hope, 125 families were helped.
