In working toward integrating as a productive member of the community, your true community radio station has been looking at ways to support various organizations and events. Prior to the recent elections, we were able to cover the CONA Candidate’s Forum and broadcast it live on the air. We have also recorded “The Stories of San Marcos” which were presented by the Lifelong Learning Center and the Mermaid Society and we will be broadcasting the series soon. As partners with the San Marcos Downtown Association we have been producing the Kissing Alley Concert series and plans are in the works to begin recording them and eventually to broadcast them as well.
The San Marcos Farmer’s Market, which occurs every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. is also a live music venue for local talent. KZSM used to produce a program that we called “Live from the Farmer’s Market” but it will soon be replaced by “Live FROM the Farmer’s Market” where we will broadcast those recorded performances.
Tune in on Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. as we will broadcast a special event from the LBJ Museum. Mr. Warren Finch, Director of the George H.W. Bush Library at College Station, will present a discussion on the legacy of the late president who recently passed.
