The Hays County Local Health Department requested a temporary COVID-19 vaccine allocation suspension this week.
The county said it asked the Texas Department of State Health Services to suspend allocation of vaccine doses to allow its clinic and partners to catch up on administering doses. The county added that it was unable to hold vaccine clinics during the week of the winter storm in February and to some extent during spring break.
The county’s normal allocation will resume next week, the county said. During each week in March, the Hays County Local Health Department received 4,680 doses of Pfizer vaccines.
