Frances Louise McMullen, “Fran”, passed away in New Braunfels, Texas on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born to Horace Ulysses and Lorena Herring Pond on May 31, 1924, in Ranger, Texas.
Fran excelled in school and was valedictorian of her graduating class at Pine Tree Highschool in Pinetree, Texas (now Longview); as well as valedictorian of her class at North Texas State University where she earned her Master of Education. She taught for over 30 years. She married Charles McMullen in June, 1946, and they were married for 58 years until his death in 2004. They lived in Houston until his retirement, when they moved to Hilltop Lakes, Texas where they resided for many years and were members of Hilltop Lakes Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles H. McMullen, Jr., her daughter Suzanne York, as well as two brothers and one sister.
