San Marcos Academy senior Evan Schawe received a $2,000 Rotary Club of San Marcos scholarship on Wednesday, April 28 in a ceremony at the Academy. His parents are John and Meredith Schawe. Wendell Hethcock, chair of the club’s scholarship committee, presented the scholarship and read letters of recommendation and tribute from Schawe's Academy instructors. Schawe plans to attend Texas A&M University in the fall as Business Honors major.
SMTX Rotary is giving out a total of $20,750 in scholarships this spring to Academy, SMCISD High School, and Hill Country Christian School seniors. The Rotary Club of San Marcos is 100 years old, this year, and is nonprofit, non-religious, and nonpolitical. It exists to do community and international service.
