San Marcos residents will soon be able to keep miniature goats in residential zoning districts after an ordinance received city council approval.
The San Marcos City Council approved on first reading an ordinance allowing miniature goats to be kept in conventional residential zoning districts.
The council approved the ordinance 5-2 with councilmembers Shane Scott and Melissa Derrick voting against it during the May 18 meeting.
