Countywide voting gains district’s OK; Cantu shuts down dispute

Hays County’s application to participate in the Texas Countywide Voting Program got support from the San Marcos CISD board of trustees Monday night.

The trustees voted unanimously to approve a resolution supporting the county’s application for the program, which would allow voters to cast ballots at any voting site in the county on Election Day instead of only at their assigned precinct.

“This would be similar to early voting,” Assistant Superintendent for Business and Support Services Karen Griffith said, “where also on Election Day you can go to any of the voting sites.”
