Dog of the Week: Lina
Lina has been at SMRAS since July 16, 2021, with little adoption interest. She's a high-energy dog and can be hard to walk on a leash at times, but shelter staff has been working with her on some of her behaviors. Lina is a brilliant 2-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Mix and learns quickly. At the end of the day, what she really wants is attention. She needs a home where there are no other animals, plenty of room to run and release energy, and an abnormally tall fence (since she can jump veryyyy high). She needs anadopter who has experience handling strong dogs and will take the time to train her. She already knows how to sit, shake, and lay down. When you visit her at the shelter, make sure to acknowledge her potential. She's an amazing dog and just needs a little extra TLC.
Cat of the Week: Here's Johnny
Here's Johnny is a chunky, but very handsome, 8-year-old tuxedo cat. This sweet guy loves to be held and get brushed. He was in the same room with a barking dog and remained absolutely unbothered. Here's Johnny love toys, maybe too much. He tends to love them so much that we will eat smaller toys, so sticking to bigger toys he's unable to ingest might be better. His tummy will thank you later. This 14-pound dude has a colorful personality and can't wait to fill your heart with joy. Come meet him today.
Both pets are available for adoption at the San Marcos Regional Shelter.
