Nearly 42,000 San Marcos residents fully vaccinated against COVID-19

San Marcos is nearing 42,000 residents who’ve been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. 

As of Monday, 41,806 San Marcos residents living in zip codes 78666 and 78667 are considered fully vaccinated, while 49,259 have received at least one dose. 

Meanwhile, 134,007 county residents are considered fully vaccinated — 62.24% of 215,309 eligible residents who are 5 years or older as of Monday. The DSHS stated that 155,866 Hays County residents have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination dose — 72.86% of eligible residents.  Additionally, more than 3,500 county residents received an additional vaccine dose between Dec. 14-20. The DSHS states 36,297 Hays County citizens have received an additional vaccine dose as of Monday.
