Hays County reports 1 COVID-19 fatality, 212 new cases in weekly report

A Hays County resident has died from COVID-19, marking the first coronavirus-related fatality reported since March. 

The Hays County Local Health Department recorded 212 COVID-19 cases and one fatality in its weekly report, which includes information from May 5-11. 

The county also reported a 87.9 weekly case rate per 100,000, a 12.6 daily case rate per 100,000, one weekly new hospitalizations per 100,000 in the weekly report.
