Now in its 13th year, UTOPIAfest returns to Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet Oct. 14 - 15 with a lineup that includes John Scofield, Shovels and Rope, and Charli 2na.
Weekend passes for Friday and Saturday and single-day tickets for the Thursday pre-party performances are on sale now at uptopiafest.com. Discounted tickets for children ages 2-12 and teens ages 13-19 are also available.
This year’s lineup includes American folk duo Shovels and Rope, whose recent 10th-anniversary edition of the “O’ Be Joyful” album follows the release of the band’s newest recording, “Manticore” earlier this year. Also joining the festival is Victor Wooten, former bassist for Bela Fleck & The Flecktones. West Coast rapper Charli 2na of Los Angeles’ Jurassic 5 is joined alongside hard-hitting eight-piece Latin funk group Brownout. Austinite Sir Woman will also return to the UTOPiAfest stage, making a stop in Burnet during her cross-country Party City Tour. Other notable performers include Sudanese- American funkrock musician, Sinkane, and soul band The Nth Power, which includes Beyonce’s former world-touring drummer Nikkie Glaspie.
