Texas State took care of business in Lafayette, La., Friday evening.
The Bobcats swept the Ragin’ Cajuns 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-15) in a dominant performance. Louisiana did jump out to a competitive start, with the match being at 12-12 midway through the first set. The maroon and gold took over after that though, going on a 13-6 scoring run to end the first set. Texas State took that momentum and carried it throughout the rest of the contest.
“That’s the best we’ve played in a while and that’s just how the season has gone so far,” head coach Sean Huiet said via Texas State Athletics. “We know Louisiana is a really good team and we knew they were going to bring a fast offense at us tonight and we’ve worked on that all week. But I thought that was the most balanced we’ve been, too. We challenged them early with the defensive side of things and I thought they did a really good job.”
