Ana Perez became the first Texas State women’s tennis player since 2014 to earn All-Sun Belt honors as the senior was named to the conference’s second team on Wednesday.
Perez went 10-6 in dual matches this season, with all but one of her wins coming in straight sets. She also went 6-8 in doubles matches, her partners being fellow seniors Julia Navajo-Melendez and Joy Chia Ming Ming, all of them coming as part of the Bobcats’ No. 1 pair.
The senior earned Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Feb. 20 after going undefeated in matches against McNeese State and Stephen F. Austin. Perez will graduate with a degree in exploratory professional studies.
