Texas State Athletics received a substantial gift from Benny and Michele Boyd to help with the Johnny and Nathali Weisman Football Complex renovation and addition. In recognition of one of the largest gifts to the project, Texas State will name the Legacy Suites level at Bobcat Stadium after the Boyd family.
The gift is part of a planned $37 million, privately-funded renovation project to the complex, which will include a new 8,000 square foot weight room, a new players lounge, new training room with hydrotherapy, individual position meeting rooms, upgraded conference rooms with additional offices, a recruiting room, and additional premium hospitality spaces for fans to enhance the gameday experience.
“As we saw with the record crowds that attended last week’s Coach’s shows in San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, and Austin, this is an exciting time for football fans at Texas State University,” said Texas State President Kelly Damphousse. “Coach Kinne and Don Coryell are taking our football program to the next level, thanks to the support of alumni and donors. I am so grateful for the generosity of Benny and Michele Boyd, and for their faith in our student-athletes and coaching staff. Having top-notch facilities is critical for recruiting great students and coaches. Their gift will help us enable them to reach their full potential.”
