The film starred Scott Bakula, Hector Elizondo, Sinbad and Jason Bateman with the plot centering around then fictional 'Texas State University' Armadillos trying to rebuild their football program after being hit with sanctions similar to what happened with SMU during the late 1980s.
The film also featured former pro football players, Tony Dorsett, Ed 'Too Tall' Jones, , Randy White, Earl Campbell, Dick Butkus, Jim Kelly and Jerry Rice.
