We appreciate the effort it takes for each member of our volunteer staff to produce a weekly radio program. I often describe it as taking on another part time job. Fortunately, we are more flexible with our schedule than most employers.
Recently, Metal Mark Live moved from Friday night to the same time on Thursday night. His encore presentations will be heard during his old time slot.
Sid’s Place, the live program, has moved to 8 PM on Sunday night. Tune in to Sid and Ellen to hear some of the best oldies, maybe a poem from Ellen, or to hear Sid dedicate some of his favorite songs to Ellen. His encores will be heard during his old time slot on Monday mornings as well.
For the time being, Connected Heart with Robin and Wendy, and Moving Forward with Virginia will not be heard. We look forward to having them return as circumstances allow.
Indigenous Freedom Radio will begin broadcasting a live program on Thursday’s in addition to its regular program on Saturday afternoons. Rumor has it that a portion of the program will be broadcast in Spanish. Details to follow as they become available.
Ever thought about hosting your own radio show? We can make that happen! Come and see what all the fuss is about! Join us at our next volunteer staff meeting which will be held on May 22nd at Wake the Dead Coffee House. Meet your community radio family and share your ideas. Meeting begins at 7:30PM.
Come and support your community radio family spelling team at Aquabrew on Thursday May 23rd as we go up against teams from around town for the Annual San Marcos Public Library Spelling Bee. (I hope they don’t ask me to spell onomatopoeia…!)
This month’s Third Thursday Kissing Alley concert will feature Lina Clarke and Thunderosa. If you’ve missed either one when they were here before, now is your chance to get to see them! Our concerts are always family-friendly, free and open to the public.
Metal Fest 2019 is coming up on June 7th and 8th at Jack’s Roadhouse. Come on out and eat, drink, bang your head, and jump into the mosh pit! Jack’s will donate a portion of the food and beverage sales during the event to support San Marcos’s community radio station.
We are grateful to our listeners. We are here because of you!
