The city of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department and the members of the Women's Hall of Fame Committee recently announced the four leaders who are the 2023 inductees and newest members of the San Marcos Women's Hall of Fame.
Named to join an elite list of women who have dedicated much of their lives to this community are Bobbie Garza-Hernandez, Nancy Hanks Ellis, Mittie Miller and Mary Peterson Earls.
Mayor Jane Hughson and the members of the City Council initially honored the four women on Monday, Oct. 2, with a proclamation, highlighting their individual achievements with respect to their volunteerism and leadership, touching specifically on these qualities that led their family, friends and citizens to nominate them for this honor.
