Fall is here which means the Pumpkin Patch is back at the First United Methodist Church-San Marcos.
Over 5,000 pumpkins were unloaded and placed in the Patch this year. Everyone is invited to come and visit the Patch and shop among many different types of pumpkins and other gourds, including Elf House gourds. Proceeds from the sales will go to Southside Community Center and School Fuel, both of which assist people in the community.
The Southside Community Center has served San Marcos since 1927. Among other things, Southside helps women, children and homeless people in our community. School Fuel provides ‘fuel’ for hungry children in the school system. School Fuel, which began in 2013, now provides weekend food for approximately 1,000 students.
