The Little Sisters of Hoboken are back on The Wimberley Players stage to bring you “Nuncrackers,” the Christmas themed sequel in the “Nunsense” series written by Dan Goggins running weekends through Dec. 10.
Get ready to unwrap the holiday season with laughter and toe-tapping tunes as this funny and heartwarming holiday musical takes The Wimberley Players stage under the direction of the talented Terri Bennett. “Nuncrackers” is a high-spirited celebration of the festive season, featuring those lovable nuns known for their unique brand of comedic antics. Audiences can expect to be treated to an evening of quirky musical numbers, a hilarious cooking class, a fun home-shopping experience, and even a few tugs at their heartstrings as the sisters attempt to put on their first-ever Christmas TV special.
“Nuncrackers” is the Christmas sequel to Dan Goggins original “Nunsense” series that started as a line of greeting cards, expanded into a cabaret show and eventually became a full-length musical. The original Off-Broadway production of “Nunsense” opened in 1985 and soon became the second-longest-running Off-Broadway show in history. The original show’s success prompted multiple sequels including “Nuncrackers” and even a few spin-offs. More than 25,000 women have played various roles in the Nunsense series, including Kaye Ballard, Georgia Engel, Lee Meriwether, Phyllis Diller, Sally Struthers, JoAnne Worley and Rue Mc-Clanahan, just to name a few.
