I usually don’t make formal resolutions for January 1st because I make resolutions all year long. Maybe it’s more of a “To Do” list. However, I think about the traditional resolutions many have. Eat better. Exercise more. Spend money wisely. Plan more time with friends and family. Do good things for those who need help. Those are worthy and I try to do them all.
Another goal is to just keep doing the same thing I’ve done for years. Spend time out and about in the community listening to those who have issues and opinions about San Marcos. When these topics are related to city government, I try to either handle, resolve, or explain.
I continue to try to keep my parents’ memory (C. C. 'Tex' and Roena Hughson) present in San Marcos. Brick sale? I’m in! Remember to thank them publicly when I can. It is their good influence regarding ethical behavior and public service that guide me every day.
