The city of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Departments is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the grand opening of the newly remodeled and inclusive Children’s Park Playscape by inviting the community to purchase a personalized fence picket to honor a family member, friend, or business.
The cost of the personalized picket is $25. Names are limited to 22 characters, including spaces. The pickets are made from 100% recycled milk jugs and are cedar colored plastic lumber with a green core. Each picket uses about 42 milk jugs.
Orders may be placed online at www.sanmarcostx.gov/parks under the “About” tab or at the Parks and Recreation Office, 401 E. Hopkins. Cash, check, and credit card is accepted. Picket sales begin May 6 at noon and end May 31 at 3 p.m.
