Dialogues for activism slated at LBJ Museum throughout June

The third annual “Dialogues for Activism” will be held on three Fridays in June featuring panel discussions and deliberative dialogue workshops on the subjects of “#MeToo” (June 7), “Poverty and Debt” (June 14), and “Mental Health” (June 21).

The public is invited to attend the free events at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum of San Marcos, 131 N. Guadalupe, San Marcos, Tx from 9 a.m. until 12:20 p.m. Coffee and croissants will be served at 9 a.m.. The panels will begin at 9:30 and the dialogue workshops at 11 a.m.

Each event will feature panels with an activist, a practitioner, and a scholar to explore each issue in depth, followed by breakout sessions with all participants.

“This is the third summer that Texas State University has collaborated with the LBJ Museum and community groups to explore serious issues impacting our lives,” said R.G. Moses, a lecturer in philosophy at Texas State. “We invite area residents and students to join us for some challenging and inspiring conversations.”

Sponsors include Texas State University, including the Philosophy Department, Honors College,   Common Experience, the Philosophy Dialogues Series, and @justicetalktxst, the LBJ Museum, Mano Amiga SMTX, and the San Marcos Cinema Club.
