Have you ever wondered what goes on inside the mind of a DJ/radio host? Away from the studio, they blend in with most other folks. BUT, when left to their own devices, if one could hear the machinations going on in their minds, the noise could be deafening.
From music to commentary to opinion, the mental conversations and discussions seem ceaseless at times. Putting together a program may take hours of planning and research, or for some, it may take a few glances at an electronic device as they walk through the door to do their show. Everyone brings their own set of talents and abilities and the results over the last couple of years have been amazing. It would be difficult to brag on our odd collection of radio personalities and what they have to offer if what they produced was less than the fine caliber of today’s diverse programming. When one considers the variety of programs to listen to on the radio, it becomes evident that we have yet to fill certain genres to adequately serve our constituent audience. We welcome suggestions, ideas, constructive comments, and serious inquiries about expanding our program offerings.
Join us at our next volunteer staff meeting which will be held on Wednesday, June 26 (every fourth Wednesday) at Wake the Dead Coffee House. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Even if you just want to get involved with a quirky bunch of radio personalities and don’t care to host your own radio program, come out and hang with us anyway. Everyone is welcome, everyone’s contribution of talents and abilities are always appreciated.
Metal Mark will be hosting Metal-Fest 2019 this Friday and Saturday at Jack’s Roadhouse. Come and join us as we eat, drink and bang our heads. Jack’s will be donating a portion of the food and drink sales receipts to KZSM. We’ll see you in the Mosh Pit!
Our Kissing Alley concerts have come to an end, at least for the time being. The Downtown Association has chosen to move the Third Thursday event to Second Saturdays to coincide with Art Squared. Rather than host live music in the alley, we have been requested to host live music on the courthouse lawn. For the month of June, Rooster’s Emporium will host the live music event. It’s gonna be a doozy.
