Police investigate homicide at the Village on Telluride

San Marcos Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday at the Village on Telluride.

At approximately 7:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, officers were called to the 300 block of Telluride for a report of a burglary of a habitation. A resident of the complex reported finding a loose dog and followed the dog to an apartment. Upon arriving at the apartment, the resident observed that the door was kicked in and contacted the San Marcos Police Department. 

Officers arrived and found Demarcus Trey Allen, 23, of Pasadena, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Justice of the Peace Maggie H. Moreno pronounced Allen deceased at the scene at 8:40 a.m. Next of kin has been notified.

Two individuals that were upstairs in the apartment and one additional roommate are being interviewed by detectives with the SMPD Criminal Investigation Division. 

This is the fifth homicide for San Marcos in 2019 with the four prior incidents including the death of Aaron Peterman on Feb. 13, the death of Brihana Landrum on Feb. 17, the death of Nicholas White on April 6 and the death of Connor Shannon on May 5.
