Fall is here which means the Pumpkin Patch is back at the First United Methodist Church- San Marcos. Over 5,000 pumpkins were unloaded and placed in the Patch this year with the help of many volunteers. Everyone is invited to come and visit the patch and shop among many different types of pumpkins and other gourds, including Elf House gourds.
The Pumpkin Patch is also a great place for Fall and Halloween photos. Proceeds from the sales will go to the local Salvation Army and School Fuel to assist people in our community.
School Fuel provides ‘fuel’ for hungry children in our school system. Begun in 2013, School Fuel now provides weekend food for over 1,000 students. The local Salvation Army provides disaster relief and assistance with food, prescription and utility costs and a literacy program.
For many in San Marcos, taking family pictures in the Pumpkin Patch is an annual tradition. This year there will also be a “Party in the Patch” on Wednesday, Oct, 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for family fun. The Party in the Patch will include free hot dogs, as well as games and activities for children. First United Methodist Church- San Marcos is located at 129 W. Hutchison, near the “little” H-E-B. Sales are Oct. 7 to 31 from noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays thru Fridays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
