Rekindle your love of reading at Green Heron Bookshop

Rekindle your love of reading at Green Heron Bookshop

This autumn, fall in love with books all over again as Green Heron Bookshop hosts a variety of events for fellow bibliophiles.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 12 to 4 p.m., Green Heron will hold a Halloween Makers Market with over 20 makers, folk music, treats and tarot. This event is free and open to everyone.

Every Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m., visit the bookshop for Coffee and Crosswords. Participants can bring their own crossword puzzle (like the one on Page B2) or borrow one from the shop. A $5 gift card goes to anyone who can solve the puzzle in under 20 minutes solo or 15 minutes for a group of two. Tea and coffee will be available for purchase, or visitors can bring their own.

To further support Green Heron Bookshop, consider joining with an Insider Membership. For $49 a year, members receive 10% off in-store purchases or free shipping for online purchases, a $10 birthday gift card, one free used book each month, checkout of any one used book at a time, a free Green Heron shopping tote and unlimited usage of Wilson, the shop’s vintage typewriter, to create notes and cards.

The shelves at Green Heron Bookshop contain a mix of contemporary titles and classics, in both hardcover and paperback. In addition to new titles, the shop has an impressive collection of used books in great condition. Green Heron Bookshop offers store credit for donated used books as well.

Visit Green Heron Bookshop in person at 504 Burleson Street. While there, pop across the hall to Solidago Apothecary to explore the tradition of herbs and esoteric supplies. Both shops are carefully curated by owner Wade Vetiver with the San Marcos community in mind.
