Central Texas Medical Center announced Monday that it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Bariatric Surgery Certification. The Gold Seal of Approval is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
“It is always an honor to be recognized by The Joint Commission,” CTMC President and CEO Anthony Stahl said. “This Bariatric Surgery Certification celebrates our commitment to our patients and their total wellness. I am very proud of everyone, whose hard work made this possible.”
CTMC underwent a rigorous on-site review this month. The Joint Commission evaluated compliance with national disease-specific care standards, as well as with bariatric surgery- specific requirements. Clinical practice guidelines and performance measures were also assessed.
