The College of Fine Arts and Communication at Texas State University will host an open house of Live Oak Hall 4 to 6 p.m. tonight.
Live Oak Hall, opened in 2022, is a $10 million, 10,000-square-foot space that houses a film sound stage, television studio, recording mix classroom, editing lab, Foley (sound effects) room and offices. TXST faculty and staff will provide tours and demonstrations of the facility’s capabilities and what students learn in the classes conducted there. Light refreshments will be served.
Live Oak Hall provides teaching and creative spaces for students and faculty in the Department of Theatre, Dance and Film and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
