HAYS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
Hays County Commissioners Court is set to recognize GIS Day and Turkeys Tackling Hunger Month with proclamations, consider a resolution for a grant application for the Great Springs Project and review a Request for Qualifications to hire legal services for the Hays County Sheriff's Office Civil Service Commission.
The court is considering a resolution to back a grant application by the Great Springs Project for two studies: the Hunter Road Trail Connectivity and Development Study and the Multi-Use Roadway Permeability Study. The first study aims to improve trails along Hunter Road, while the second focuses on making roads more accessible for noncar transportation. These initiatives aim to enhance transportation, roadway safety and economic resilience, benefiting both trail users and wildlife while promoting sustainable growth in Hays County.
The Commissioners Court is reviewing a Request for Qualifications to hire legal services for the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Commission. The chosen law firm will handle matters such as employee classification, promotions, layoffs and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair enforcement of the Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Rules. The law firm will provide legal counsel, represent the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Commission in legal matters and assist with administrative tasks as needed. The Request for Qualifications will be issued on Nov. 21, with a deadline for SOQ submissions on Dec. 13, leading to the selection of pre-qualified firms in January 2025.
The meeting can be viewed in person at the Hays County Historic Courthouse or online at hayscountytx. gov/commission-ers court-live-stream.
