Texas State earned their third straight win of the season, beating the Texas Southern Tigers 72-59.
The Bobcats and Head Coach Terrence Johnson improved their record to 5-3 overall during their four game road stretch.
“I learned that we could bounce back from a slow start and that these guys can give us the energy and effort that we need when we demand it out of them,” Johnson said. “They showed that they can play through some tough moments, and we did that today.”
Senior forward Christian Turner led the team in scoring with 18 points and three rebounds.
Senior forward Tyrell Morgan was second in scoring with 13 points while leading the team in rebounds with nine and tied for first in assists with seven.
Sophomore point guard and former Rattler basketball player Kaden Gumbs was third in scoring with 12 points and was tied for assists with seven.
Senior forward Joshua O’Garro was the fourth Bobcat to score in double figures with ten points.
The Bobcats return to home this Wednesday against Arlington Baptist. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
