Mahdi finished the 2024 regular season leading the team in rushing with 183 carries for 991 yards and four touchdowns. In the Bobcats bowl game, Mahdi will have the chance to become just the third Bobcat running back in program history to have back to back 1,000 rushing seasons following Claude Mathis and Karrington Bush.

Mahdi also caught 24 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
