Community encouraged to complete transit survey

The city of San Marcos, in partnership with Texas State University, is conducting a survey to study the San Marcos transportation system. Results of the study will assist in the development of future transit routes and support a coordinated public transportation system that will benefit all San Marcos residents and visitors.

The study seeks to understand the current needs and preferences of the San Marcos community to develop a more accessible and effective transit system. The survey gathers feedback in key areas, including rider behavior, route efficiency, service gaps and overall satisfaction.

San Marcos Interim Transit Manager Alex Vogt said this is a once in a decade opportunity to share input on how the transit system can be improved.

“We want feedback from our community to ensure the service we provide is reliable, convenient, sustainable and meets the evolving needs of all of our residents and visitors,” Vogt said.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is available online in English and Spanish at sanmarcostx. gov/bussurvey. Responses will be collected through Dec. 31. Feedback from the survey will be used to make informed decisions about route adjustments, schedule modifications and infrastructure improvements.
