Holiday activities and performances in Plaza Park

Sights & Sounds of Christmas had a one-day intimate ceremony Saturday that, even with the humidity and not-so-winter weather, brought the holiday festivities to San Marcos. The day started with the Jingle Bell 5K run in the morning. There were vendors throughout the day, and all of the classic festival foods were available, including scrumptious turkey legs. There was a cookie decorating booth as well. Performances occurred throughout the day such as San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District student performances and, later, the Spazmatics. Santa Claus and the Grinch also came to greet the kids, and the night was topped off with a lovely Christmas light display.
