Bobcats defeat Old Dominion following 15-point comeback

TXST WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Texas State completed a 14-point fourth-quarter comeback to defeat the Old Dominion Monarchs 65-60.

The win improves the Bobcats’ overall record to 9-8 and their conference record to 3-4.

Texas State trailed 5339 with less than eight minutes in the fourth quarter before making their comeback.

The Bobcats made their comeback and soon cut the lead down to 6055. Back-to-back three pointers from senior power forward Jaylin Foster and sophomore point guard Jamia Harris gave the Bobcats the lead at 61-60 as part of a 10-0 run to close out the game, leading to the win at 65-60.

Graduate senior point guard Destiny Terrell led the team in scoring with 16 points followed by Foster with 14 and Harris with 11.

Terrell also led the team in rebounds with six followed by Foster and Harris with five.

The Bobcats return home Thursday for their annual kids game when Texas State hosts the Troy Trojans.

Troy is coming off an 81-73 win over the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun last Saturday and currently sit second in the Sun Belt Conference standings with a 6-1 conference record and a 12-7 overall record.

Tip-off for Texas State and Troy is set for 11 a.m.
