Texas State won their second game of the season, beating the Lipscomb Bison 3-0.
The Bobcats improved their overall record to 2-1.
Texas State struck first in the first inning, captilizing on a Bison error and a fielder’s choice to put runners on first and second with no outs.
The Bobcats pulled off the double steal, forcing another Bison error allowing junior Sidney Harvey to score and give the Bobcats their first lead of the game. Sophomore Kate Bubela advanced to third base.
Bubela later scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Karmyn Bass to extend the lead to 2-0.
Bass added another run for the Bobcats in the bottom of the third inning. After junior Keely Williams was hit by the pitch, Bass connected with a RBI triple towards right field to score Williams and extend the lead 3-0.
Sophomore pitcher Madison Azua earned the start for the Bobcats, pitching through six innings and allowing just three hits, no earned runs and striking out seven batters to earn the win.
Senior pitcher Presley Glende earned the save in the top of the seventh.
