San Marcos fell to Cibolo Steele on the road in a thrilling game, which saw the Rattlers lose 1-0 to the Knights.
The Rattlers fall to 4-91 overall and 2-2-1 in district play.
The Knights took advantage of a scoring opportunity in the first half to go up to a 1-0 lead while the Rattlers were unable to find the back of the net against the Steele defense.
San Marcos will be off this Friday and will return home Tuesday night in a showdown with New Braunfels Canyon.
The Cougars enter the game with a 7-3-3 record and a 1-1-2 district record. In their last district game on Tuesday, Canyon tied with Judson 2-2.
Kickoff for San Marcos- Canyon is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday night at Toyota Ratter Stadium.
