Booster seat distribution event coming to library

Ensuring the safety of children on the road is a top priority, and local families have an opportunity to receive free booster seats at the upcoming Safety First: Booster Seat Distribution event on Friday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at the San Marcos Public Library, located at 625 East Hopkins.

This event springs from a collaboration between the Dell Kids in Cars Program and the Start Smart Hays & Caldwell Early Childhood Coalition, bringing families valuable education on booster seat safety. Parents and caregivers will attend an instruction and safety demonstration before receiving a free booster seat for any eligible child (ages 4 and up) in their home. The presentation will be available in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility for all families.

“These events are designed to help keep our kiddos safe on the road,” said Nina Linda Ramos, Community Action Inc assistant home visiting director. “We are thankful for this amazing partnership with Kids in Cars and look forward to continuing to host car seat distribution events across Hays and Caldwell counties.”
