It was a goal fest at Toyota Rattler Stadium as San Marcos defeated the New Braunfels Canyon Cougars 7-0.
The win improves San Marcos’ record to 5-9-1 overall and their district record to 3-2-1.
The Rattlers blitzed the Cougars in the first half, scoring four goals. San Marcos continued their offensive attack in the second half, adding three more goals.
Julio Alvarado led the
INDIVIDUAL STATISTICS attack for the Rattlers, scoring four goals to complete the haul. Alvaro Garcia, Max Guzman and Joshua Guzman all added one goal apiece.
San Marcos will be back home Friday night against Buda Johnson to start the second round of district play. The Rattlers defeated the Jaguars 3-2 in the district opener earlier in the season.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
