Local Art Club to host music therapy series

LONELY HEARTS ART CLUB

Forget Cupid this February. The Lonely Hearts Art Club, a San Marcos community outreach program offering free monthly events highlighting creative alternative approaches to mental healthcare, is thrilled to announce its second event in their Music Therapy series, Heartbreak & Harmony, a unique anti- Valentine’s Day experience. This event will take place on Feb. 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Triple Six Social, San Marcos’ premier location for unique events, which can be found at 329 Cheatham Street.

Heartbreak & Harmony offers a creative outlet for those looking to turn their emotional experiences into something beautiful and lasting. The evening will feature a special guest appearance by EZ Maldonado from Loose Screws and Rusty Hearts, San Marcos’ beloved country rock star. Fresh off their recent wins at the second annual San Marcos Music Awards, where they took home Best New Artist and Best Country Artist/band. Maldonado will share insights into how songwriting transformed his personal heartbreaks into chart-topping hits.

Attendees will have the opportunity to collaborate with Maldonado and others to write a song together, record it and even have it premiered on the local radio station KZSM. This interactive experience offers a powerful way to express emotions and connect with others through the shared language of music.

Triple Six Social, known for its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, provides the perfect backdrop for this event. Owner Andrea Hernandez is passionate about fostering community and creating a space where everyone feels welcome. Attendees can enjoy delicious drinks and snacks while participating in the creative process.

This event is free and open to the public, reflecting the Lonely Hearts Art Club’s ethos: to combat loneliness through art and community in the San Marcos area.

Don’t miss a special interview with EZ Maldonado from Loose Screws and Rusty Hearts and Melissa, founder of the Lonely Hearts Art Club, on KZSM’s Revolving Door with Rob Roark on Feb. 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. They will be discussing the event and the importance of music and community in mental well-being.
