Texas State wrapped up the San Marcos Classic with a dominant 13-0 win over the Southern Illinois Salukis.
“That [game is] what we’ve been waiting for all year,” Head Coach Ricci Woodard said. “I think this group just needs experience. If we take it one day at a time, one game at a time, one pitch at a time, we should get better.”
Sophomore starting pitcher Madison Azua earned her fourth win of the season, pitching four innings, allowing just one hit, no earned runs, no walks and striking out five batters. The Bobcat offense capitalized in the second inning, scoring eight runs.
Texas State will be on the road Thursday against Texas A&M.
