San Marcos won their first games of the season, defeating both South San Antonio, Santa Gertrudis and Harlingen South at the Corpus Christi Tournament.
The Rattlers improved their overall record to 3-1 after dropping their season opener to Medina Valley 6-0.
In the Rattlers’ first game of the tournament, San Marcos faced off against the South San Antonio Bobcats.
Both the Rattlers and the Bobcats were tied at 2-2 going into the top of the seventh inning. However, the Rattlers scored five runs in the inning while keeping South San Antonio off the scoreboard to seal the 7-2 victory and the first win of the season.
In the second game of the day, the Rattlers took on the Santa Gertrudis Lions.
San Marcos took advantage of a Santa Gertrudis error in the first inning, scoring one run to lead 1-0. With runners on first and second, junior Cole Wiatrek hit an RBI double, extending the lead to 2-0.
The Rattlers scored another run when Landon Munoz hit a sacrifice fly to right field, moving Wiatrek to third and ex- tending the lead 3-0.

Following a walk by Mason Gamboa, senior Zehavi Hernandez hit a two-run RBI single, pushing the lead to 5-0.
A walk by Charlie Helgeson was followed up by a RBI single by Elijah Ramirez, putting the Rattlers in front 6-0.
The Rattlers added five more runs while keeping the Lions off the scoreboard to seal an 11-0 win for San Marcos.
Pitcher Ronaldo Mendez- Soto threw a four-inning no-hitter, allowing no runs, one walk and striking out seven batters.
Friday morning, the Rattlers continued play in a showdown with the Harlingen South Hawks.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Rattlers loaded up the bases following an error and two walks.
Ramirez earned the RBI the hard way, getting hit by the pitch to score a run and giving the Rattlers a 1-0 lead. The Hawks got out of the bases loaded jam on a double play.
However, San Marcos kept their offensive attack going into the third inning.
Following back-to-back singles from Jack Vasquez and Colson Geesee putting the duo on first and third, Wiatrek scored Vasquez on a sac bunt, extending the lead to 2-0.
Consecutive was for the Rattlers loaded up the bases with two outs before Helgeson hit an RBI single to make it a 3-0 game before the Hawks got the out at the plate.
In the bottom of the fourth inning with the bases loaded, Munoz cleared the bases with a RBI single, pushing the lead to 6-0.
The bottom of the fifth inning saw both Ramirez and Andrew Wilson hit back-to-back RBI singles, allowing San Marcos to come away with the win at 8-0.
Vasquez threw five innings for the Rattlers and earned the win, allowing just two hits, no runs, three walks and striking out seven batters.
