Local brothers celebrate first year of Senza Maeso Tasting Room

Founders and twinbrother duo Jay and Ryan Gitman, are opening the doors to Senza Maeso Tasting Room and Bar for a one year anniversary event from 12 to 11 p.m. on March 8, located at 1090 FM 32. Embracing the essence of Senza Maeso, translated to “Without Master,” the event provides visitors with a tasting room experience centered around original cocktails made with in-house spirits. The event features local vendors selling stellar goods, out-of-this-world bites and live music with intergalactic grooves.

Located in San Marcos and near Wimberley, Senza Maeso offers an intimate bar and lounge, covered patio and land perfect for live entertainment and events. With an interior vision brought to life by the award-winning, NYC-based 71 Collective who specialize in bar design, the tasting room is an amalgamation of science fiction, Space Age meets Mad Men. Senza Maeso’s cosmic aesthetic is adorned with elements from kinetic art and vintage science gadgets to bathrooms projecting Carl Sagan’s Cosmos Series on loop. Thoughtfully designed with an Art Deco inspired triangle-shaped bar, the interior features multi-dimensional walls and vaulted ceilings creating a swanky yet casual atmosphere. The tasting room was designed to be a unique Hill Country destination where guests are invited for a drink at the bar, leisurely enjoy cocktails with friends on the patio or work remotely in the lounge.

“It was a lightbulb moment when I tried the Cape Gooseberry [also known as a Goldenberry] at the grocery store all those years ago,” said Ryan Gitman, Senza Maeso Spirits co-founder and COO. “We’re incredibly grateful and wholeheartedly committed to bringing people together to enjoy an unparalleled tasting room experience that reflects our passion for crafting exceptional spirits.” The one year anniversary event is designed to do just that.
