Saturday night, the Rock Bottom String Band will take the stage at Tantra. This is a San Marcos-based bluegrass & more band I’ve been wanting to see live for a long time. They’ve just released their third full-length album, always forward never straight, and if you haven’t given it a listen yet, check it out on Spotify, or via their website at rockbottomstringband.com. Though I love their music, I’ve yet to experience their live show, and I can’t imagine a better venue for the first time than the outdoor stage at Tantra. There’s a $5 cover, and doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m. On Sunday, I’ll follow up with the Rising Roses Drag Brunch at Railyard Grill as Solangel Vergara and Smokey Zbornak host an unforgettable show featuring new and local performers and a vendors market. All of this sounds like a San Marcos weekend well spent.
