Celebrate the power of creativity and the art of bringing creative dreams to life at the Unsung Creatives Showcase on Saturday, April 19 at Mothership Studios. Presented by Expressive Arts Facilitator Ellen Rebecca Geis, this free community event will feature the debut of seven creatives who, until now, have never shared their work publicly.
Featuring new artists Ameia Rimpson, Armilyn Nix, Blaze Turley, Brooke Schumacher, Hannah Ridlen, Makenzy Weightman and Micah Mc-Daniels, this event is the culmination of an eightweek workshop led by Geis to support the artists in bringing their creative dreams to life. Throughout the workshop, these emerging artists overcame self-doubt and navigated the messy terrain of the creative process to develop their original creative projects — from visual art to performance pieces. Now they’re ready to share their work with the San Marcos community in an immersive gallery opening and community arts event.
The evening will feature a gallery exhibition, live performances and an artist panel discussion, where participants will share their journeys and creative processes. The event will conclude with a reception and an interactive community arts activity, inviting attendees to explore their own creative dreams — all while enjoying refreshments and participant-curated music.
